Women-only e-hailing Malaysia services could become more widely available after Transport Minister Anthony Loke called on e-hailing companies to expand options that allow female passengers to travel exclusively with female drivers.

Speaking at the Wanita DAP Congress in Putrajaya on 6 September 2026, Loke said he has encouraged e-hailing operators to introduce specialised services for women. He also urged Grab to consider extending the concept to its newer shared-ride services, where both drivers and passengers would be female.

Grab Already Offers Women-Only Rides

Grab Malaysia currently offers Women-Only Rides (Beta), which matches female passengers exclusively with verified female driver-partners.
