Replacement holidays (cuti ganti) in 2027
In states with a Saturday–Sunday weekend, a public holiday that falls on a Sunday is normally replaced by the next working day. A holiday on a Saturday is not replaced. Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu have a Friday–Saturday weekend and follow their own state rules.
- Mon, 8 Feb: expected replacement for the second day of Chinese New Year (Sunday, 7 Feb).
- Mon, 16 Aug: expected replacement for Maulidur Rasul (Sunday, 15 Aug) in most states.
- Awal Muharram falls on Sunday, 6 Jun and the next day (Mon, 7 Jun) is already the Agong's Birthday, so a replacement day may be given on Tue, 8 Jun. Wait for your state's confirmation before booking.

Where to go on a 2027 long weekend
Three or four days is enough for a Penang food trip, Melaka's heritage town, a cool weekend in Cameron Highlands or Genting Highlands. The nine-day breaks in March and May suit Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu or a budget trip to Bali. For more ideas, see the best places to visit in Malaysia.
