ExFunCity News | 521kg Meth Private Jet Bust Linked to Subang Flight
By ExFunCity · 7 Oct 2026
TL;DR — 521kg meth private jet bust in Laos involved a jet from Subang, but Malaysian police say the drugs were loaded in Laos and bound for Manila.
The 521kg meth private jet bust in Laos has attracted major attention in Malaysia after authorities discovered 500 packages of suspected crystal methamphetamine aboard a private jet at Luang Prabang International Airport. Malaysian police have clarified that the drugs did not originate from Malaysia and were believed to be destined for Manila, Philippines. BERNAMA
Latest Update
According to Bukit Aman’s Narcotics Crime Investigation Department, the chartered aircraft departed Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang for Luang Prabang on October 1 without carrying any cargo.
The flight initially carried three people — a Singaporean pilot, a Malaysian co-pilot and a Filipino passenger.
About two hours after the aircraft landed in Laos, two vehicles arrived at the airport. Airport personnel then transferred 23 bags towards the jet.
An inspection later uncovered 500 packages of suspected methamphetamine weighing 521kg in total. BERNAMA

Drugs Were Loaded in Laos, Not Malaysia
One important detail in the 521kg meth private jet bust is where the drugs entered the aircraft.
Bukit Aman NCID director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said information provided by Laotian authorities indicated that the jet left Subang without any drug cargo.
Police believe the methamphetamine was loaded in Laos and was intended to be transported onward to Manila.
Hussein also stressed that the shipment was not intended for the Malaysian market. BERNAMA

13 People Detained in Laos
Laotian authorities detained 13 individuals in connection with the case following the discovery at Luang Prabang International Airport.
The private aircraft was also seized for investigation.
Malaysian police have opened their own investigation and are expected to send officers from the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department to Laos to obtain more information, including whether the syndicate has any further links to Malaysia. The Star

Why Malaysians Are Talking About It
The 521kg meth private jet bust initially raised concern because the aircraft had flown from Subang before arriving in Laos.
However, the latest police clarification changes the picture significantly: Malaysian authorities say the aircraft departed the country empty, while the drugs were loaded later in Laos.
The presence of a Malaysian co-pilot and the aircraft’s departure from Subang are among the issues investigators are expected to examine further.

What Comes Next
Malaysian and Laotian authorities are continuing investigations into the syndicate behind the shipment, including how the 521kg drug cargo reached Luang Prabang airport and who organised its intended onward journey to the Philippines.
Until those investigations are completed, police have not publicly confirmed any wider Malaysian role in the 521kg meth private jet bust beyond the known flight details.
